Comprehensive Emergency Assistance Program
Emergencies can happen when you least expect them. If you’re facing a crisis that’s making it difficult to pay your rent or mortgage, the Comprehensive Emergency Assistance Program (CEAP) may be able to help. CEAP is designed to support families through difficult times and help prevent the loss of housing due to eviction or foreclosure.
To Qualify:
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements
Must be a Shelby County resident.
Must meet 125% or below of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines (See chart below),
Guidelines change annually. Gross income is used regardless of expenses or garnishments.Must have proof of income for seniors (age 60+) or documentation showing a wage reduction or loss due to termination, separation, or reduction in work hours.
Unexpected costs such as repairs, funerals, medical, and household expenses do not qualify under this program term.Must have a current lease or mortgage agreement.
Must have a valid state-issued photo ID and Social Security cards for all household members.
Must include Section 8 housing voucher paperwork if applicable.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT PAYMENT FOR OUR SERVICES. IF ANY PERSON OR AGENCY REQUESTS PAYMENT FOR OUR GRANT FUNDED SERVICES IT IS A SCAM.

Assistance cannot be given if you have not successfully secured an appointment slot online on the First Monday of the Month.
